#976 Upregulation of Somatostatin Receptor Type 2 Expression in Neuroendocrine Tumors by Epigenetic Modulation

Introduction: The somatostatin receptor type 2 (sst2) is a target for treatment of neuroendocrine tumors (NETs). However, epigenetic mechanisms might account for the high variability in sst2 expression and treatment response between patients.

#842 O6-Methylguanine DNA Methyltransferase (MGMT) Expression and Ki-67 Index Predict Response to Temozolomide in Patients with Well-Differentiated Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors (WDPNET)

Introduction: Temozolomide (TEM) showed encouraging results in WDPNET. Decreased MGMT expression and methylation of its promoter seems to correlate with better outcome in TEM-treated glioblastomas.

#676 Gene Silencing by Promoter Hypermethylation in SI-NETs

Introduction: Aberrant DNA methylation is an important feature of human cancer affecting corresponding gene expressions and clinical features in different tumors, including SI-NETs.

#471 Alterations of Global and Gene-Specific DNA Methylation in Midgut Carcinoids

Introduction: Epigenetic alterations of DNA methylation are known to be associated with the clinical presentation of midgut carcinoids.

#72 Reduced expression of p27 and the occurrence of CpG island methylator phenotype in insulinomas

Introduction: The molecular pathogenesis of sporadic insulinoma is unclear, though some of the genes were found to be slienced by promoter methylation. CpG island methylator phenotype (CIMP) was found in a number of common tumors and correlated with loss of expression of p27, which may contribute to the tumorigenesis of the tumors.
